Jana Nowack received her MFA at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig, class for Fine Art Photography of professor Tina Bara. Until 2009 she studied communication design and photography at the University of Arts in Bremen, Germany with Peter Bialobrzeski.
Her work has been shown in exhibitions in Europe, the United States and South America such as Fotofestival SOLAR, Pinacoteca do Ceará, Fortaleza, Brazil (2022-23), Studio Das Weisse Haus, Vienna, Austria (2022), STUDIO68, Berlin, Germany (2021), MOTTO DISTRIBUTION, Berlin, Germany (2021), Lovaas Projects, Munich, Germany (2020), Spring Break Art Show in Los Angeles (2020), Kunstraum C.G.Boerner in New York (2020) and KN-Space for Art in Context in Berlin (2017). Her art is part of private collections in New York, USA, in Melbourne, Australia and in Leipzig, Germany. She lives and works in Berlin.
Jana Nowack is the founder of the exhibition space KN and a co-founder of the artist collective KN - Space for Art in Context in Berlin. From 2014-2015, she was one of KN’s directors. Nowack curated and co-curated exhibitions, concerts and magazine parties at KN until its closure in 2018.
